Ceremony for the presentation of state awards of the Republic of Tajikistan to representatives of the World Bank

On September 21, 2026, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, a ceremony was held to present state awards of the Republic of Tajikistan to high-level representatives of the World Bank.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin, who expressed appreciation for the high level of comprehensive and constructive cooperation between Tajikistan and the World Bank.

In recognition of their significant contribution to strengthening cooperation and advancing engagement with the Republic of Tajikistan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan presented the state award of the Order of “Dusti” (Friendship) to Anna Bjerde, Managing Director of Operations at the World Bank, and Antonella Bassani, Vice President for the Europe and Central Asia Region at the World Bank.

On behalf of the leadership and Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs presented the Order of “Dusti” to Anna Bjerde, World Bank Managing Director of Operations, and Antonella Bassani, World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, in recognition of their valuable contribution to strengthening cooperation and developing relations with the Republic of Tajikistan.

For their part, Anna Bjerde and Antonella Bassani conveyed their deep appreciation for being presented the state award of the Republic of Tajikistan—the Order of “Dusti”—noting that they regard this distinction as an important expression of trust and a meaningful acknowledgment of their contribution to advancing cooperation between the World Bank and the Republic of Tajikistan.

They also extended their sincere thanks to the President and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for this high honor and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation and the long‑term partnership between the Republic of Tajikistan and the World Bank.
